Yurij Danylyuk aka DJ Uragun

His name is Break DJ UraGun. Many people are familiar with him and his music, many people love and respect the work that UraGun is doing for the culture, he always has a positive outlook on life, pleasant to talk to and discuss different topics, and his fresh beats are always making the bboys want to go down at the bboy spots. He is not a hater, does not like discussing people. DJ UraGuns life creed is: Judge not, that ye be not judged; Help other by doing good things and it will all come back to you.

It’s all started in Ukraine in small town of Teofipol. UraGun got his love for the Hip Hop culture form his brother who was listening to rap music. At that time UraGun was not yet into bboying as there was no one around to show him how its done... Until one day when his brother made him a present that has changed his life forever – he brought him a BOTY 1998 videotape. Since then UraGun has started his bboy trainings and also had a huge interest in music that the bboys were dancing to.

In 2003 he had moved to Brescia, Italy, where he met local bboys and Hip Hop heads. In 2005 he started to get interested in DJing and sighed up for CDJ courses. It was not quite what he was expected as UraGun has always wanted to spin vinyl, scratch and feel music “under his fingers”. Driven by this idea, in 2006 he had purchased turntables, started mixing d’n’b and rap... And did a bit of scratching too. After some bboy event one of his close friends asked him: “UraGun, why don’t you start playing music for bboys?” The seed was planted into his head. While being a student, he didn’t have enough money to buy vinyl; so he had to get a part time job to make some money in order to make his dream come true. By 2007 he had his small collection of 60 records. That’s when he had played at his first ever bboy event. The music that he was spinning was so fresh and dope that all bboys were in shock. So, UraGun just had to keep going. In 2009 he had been DJing at the International Bboy Games event in Rome and showed the whole World what is a real Break DJ all about. A DJ from Italy that was actually following the battle and playing some fresh music. Some of the beats that he was playing at that event are still not discovered by other DJs. Playing some unknown fresh beats added some more respect for DJ UraGun and gave him a “Fresh Break DJ” status amongst other DJs.

In 2009 UraGun had a spine injury, so he had to stop dancing. Next 3 years he had devoted to DJing by working on his style, putting mixtapes together and digging. He has been spinning records at many bboy events around Europe.

He is digging a lot these days, buying vinyl, improving his DJ skills. It is almost impossible not to notice DJ UraGun when he is spinning at International bboy events. He is never sitting in one place, always travelling around the World, playing at events, buying records at vinyl shops. DJ UraGun is willing to come to your place and spin his recorded anytime! Half a year ago UraGun and two of his friends founded a cultural organisation named BOOMBOX. That is a 200sq metres spot where jams, live concerts, trainings, bboying and DJing lessons taking place.
