Threefold Value Interface
3 Fader: the faders 1, 2 and 3 represent different evaluation criteria.
The evaluation is made after every round. At least one fader must be moved.
The criteria of the faders is determined as follows:
Physical Quality - Body - "What and Where?"

Technique: Athleticism, Body Control, Dynamics, Spatial Control
•
Variety: Vocabulary, Variation
Artistic Quality - Mind - "How and Who?"
•
Creativity: Progression from the Foundation, Response, Improvisation
•
Personality: Stage Presence, Character
Interpretive Quality - Soul - "Why and When?"
•
Performance: Composition, Impact, Authenticity
•
Musicality: Coherence, Texture, Rhythm
Trivium Value System
The judges are evaluating the competitors by comparing their skills.
Each judge analyzes the different performances by using the criteria of the
Trivium Value System to create an assessment.
The
Trivium Value System developed by
Niels "Storm" Robitzky and
Kevin "Renegade" Gopie in collaboration with and8.dance is based on cross-faders to value the participants performance. The judges can use one or all cross-faders to create the best possible representation of their interpretation of the observed skill. The judges must submit their votes after every round of the battle.
The
Trivium Value System has 6 cross-faders, each one represents a criteria. All criteria interlink with one another.
Physical Quality - Body - "What and Where?"

Variety: (value 13,333%) Vocabulary, Variation
Artistic Quality - Mind - "How and Who?"

Personality: (value 13,333%) Stage Presence, Character
Interpretive Quality - Soul - "Why and When?"

Performance: (value 20%) Composition, Impact, Authenticity

Musicality: (value 13,333%) Coherence, Texture, Rhythm
Judges also look out for form, execution, confidence, spontaneity, repeat, bite, crash, slip, wipe out or misbehaviour - these values are also considered as part of the
Trivium Value System.
and8 Select (Preselection Tool)
The tool
and8 Select is developed to assist and speed up qualification rounds.
BOTY-Matrix (Battle of the Year)
This voting Interface is used for the valuation of shows.
The best Crews with the highest ranking position will be selected for the battles.

• Toprock/Uprock (Factor 1.6)

• Powermoves (Factor 1.6)
Shift-Matrix
The criterias were defined by
Emilio "Buddha Stretch" Austin and
Niels "Storm" Robitzky.
Unlike to other interfaces there are no points but a ranking (placements) which is given per criteria in the
Shift-Matrix.
The decision is made on the basis of a comparison.
Criteria of the Shift-Matrix:
