Welcome 2 My Cypher

Welcome 2 My Cypher is an online battle where the twist is that you can only enter if you are dancing in a small space. In the online battles that have happened many competitors have had bigger spaces to dance in than others. This battle is to even the playing field, so that everyone is playing the same game.


Dates and Timings for the Competition?

Battle entrant will open on April 30th and run until May 5th, 12pm, Central Europe Time.



The battle dates will go as follows:

Top 16 on May 8th

Top 8 on May 11th

Semi final on May 14th

Finals on May 16th


Is there an Entry Fee or Age limit?

No, entry is completely FREE and the battle is open to all ages.


Battle Format:

The battle is a 1on1, solo competition.



How The Qualification Will Work:

The qualification will be limited to 100 entrants, so get your videos up quickly.

The qualification is 1 round only.

The top 16 breakers will be chosen from the entries.

If you qualify for the top 16 you will receive a message on Instagram from Welcome 2 My Cypher, informing you of your qualification to top 16, with all information on what will happen next.

The top 16 will also be listed on the @welcome2mycypher IG page



How To Enter:

Step 1. Follow @welcome2mycypher on Instagram

Step 2. Post a video clip on your personal Instagram page of your qualifier round.

Step 3. Make sure that you tag the judges: @dusktheruggeds @thebboymachine @artisfsc so they can see your round.

Step 4. Also make sure that you use the hashtag #welcome2mycypher on your video description.



Battle Concept/Rules?

You must be doing your round in a small space to enter Welcome 2 my cypher.



The rough dimensions for the space are 2 metres by 2 metres, in a square, or roughly no bigger than the length of your body, from your head to your feet, if you were lying down in the space

So, this means NO gyms, NO studios, NO big rooms in your house, NO big outdoor spaces.


The judges will be analyzing the space that the participants are dancing in as part of the qualification, and if your space looks too big, and you are considered for top 16, the judges may ask to see a picture of you laying down in the space.



How Many Rounds Is Each Stage Of The Battle?

Top 16 will be 1 round each

Top 8 will be 2 rounds each

The semi finals will be 2 rounds each

And for the Finals it will be announced prior to the battle.



How Do We Find Out Who Won Each Round?

The winners of each round will be announced the day after each battle round.


How Will Music Work?

For your qualification round each dancer can pick their own track.



From the top 16 Welcome 2 My Cypher will send the dancers the tracks they will need to dance to.



We advise that the dancers put their speaker near to the device they are recording on when dancing, or have the volume up high, so the music can be heard.


Who are the Judges?

Duzk - The Ruggeds crew (Holland)

Machine - Rockforce/LODB crew (California/London)

Artis - Furious Stylez crew (Spain)

Will The Judges Be Using Any Type Of System To Judge?

No system but the judges will be looking closely at dancing, musicality, control, use of space, and details.



What's The Prize?

150 Euros prize money for the winner.
