Jordan Smith was born in Johannesburg (South Africa) on November 14, 2000 and started dancing at the age of thirteen. With the assistance of his two crews Kreative Beings and Dye-namic Crew as well as his coach Rankatsana Bashimane aka Bashi Jordan made great and speedy progress and discovered thereby also his love for the hip hop culture.
In addition to the BC One Last Chance Cypher in South Africa where he reached the TOP16 this year, he achieved the second place in the national ranking in the online-video-qualification for the Youth Olympic Games. In the last decision phase in Kawasaki the 17-year-old got as the only dancer from South Africa the admission to the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games. Reading his name on the display in Kawasaki was the most beautiful moment in his life, he says.
For Jordan who very much appreciates his homeland it is a great honour to represent South Africa in the games in Buenos Aires. Creating a breaking community within South Africa - this is one of the goals the young b-boy has planned for his future.
The greatest influence in dance Jordan received from b-boy Cloud. Not only in matters of dance but also due to his warm hearted character Cloud provides a role model for Jordan.
In addition Jordan is deeply convinced that in the whole world there is more good than bad and more love than hate. Fear is in his eyes a natural human feeling but it is important to be able to thrust such feelings aside and character attributes such as rejection and exclusion completely contradict his nature.
Free days are a rarity for Jordan - now his focus is only on the preparation for the games in Buenos Aires and the goal to get the best possible out of his skills.
