In the online-video-qualification Anastasia Solovjova was the only one participant from Latvia and thus she obtained the qualification for the tournament in Essen where she reached the twelfth place in the overall ranking. Through the YOG regulation which determines that per continent at least one b-girl must progress to the next round, however, per country only one b-girl can be chosen, Anastasia acquired with the sixteenth place at the World Championship in Kawasaki the qualification for the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games, since some competitors from France, Japan and Korea had dropped out due to this regulation.
It was the Riga Jam in May 2012 which aroused Anastasia’s enthusiasm for breaking and gave her the incentive to start breaking. Today the Riga-born dancer is a member of the `Circle Dance´ and the `Camelot Crew´ from whom, as she says, she could learn the most. Powermoves are Anastasia’s strongest side in breaking and she continuously strives to build up, to raise and to improve these skills.
The proof for the young athlete’s strong will is the fact that in 2014 she had been practising with a broken arm for several weeks. Taking a break was out of the question for Anastasia as training is the top point on her agenda.
