By the side of Mathieu du Ruisseau aka D-Matt it’s also Emma Misak aka Emma who as a representative for Canada goes into the battle competitions at the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
Inspired by some b-boys in school-dance-lessons in the first year of High School Emma started dancing in 2013. From those guys she learned a lot of basics, also the "Now Or Never Crew" from Vancouver gave Emma a good incentive and raised her motivation to keep practising. Today the 17-year-old represents the "Dreadnoughtz Crew" from Surrey (Canada) and practises under the guidance of Ali Shabbir, a dancer of the MMJ Crew.
Ali Shabbir is also the one who will accompany Emma to Buenos Aires in few weeks. The Canadian b-girl is overwhelmed by her previous success on her path to Olympia - until today she still can’t believe that she has already made it so far. However, Emma is certain that this experience will shape her career in dance.
Breaking plays an important role in Emma’s life. Thus every morning she asks herself when and where she could preferably practise today. Also in difficult times for Emma dancing is the key not to lose ground. The Canadian athlete loves challenges and firmly believes in her dreams - one of them is opening an own dance studio one day.
