Already at the age of eleven, when he had just started, the Canadian Mathieu du Ruisseau aka D-Matt knew that he wants to dance for the rest of his life. Today b-boy D-Matt is a member of the crew `Stylz Corrupt´ founded in Montreal in 2008 and owes his development in dance not only to his crew but also to his coach Vincent Lachance aka b-boy Intrikid as well as to `Sweet Technique´ and `Fresh Format´, two further local crews.
In the Continental Qualifier in Philadelphia D-Matt achieved the first place and secured with the 7th place in Kawasaki his battle admission to the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games. Herein the 17-year-old dancer sees a good opportunity to compare his level with that of the other b-boys of his age group and is looking forward to the challenge awaiting him in few weeks.
Training is D-Matt’s first thought in the morning, but in his free time he also likes reading books and listening to music. Furthermore D-Matt practises meditation and describes himself as a peaceful person. This is something, says D-Matt, that distinguishes him from many other people.
However, from breaking he draws most of his strength and strives to belong to the world elite one day.
