She is said to be one of the strongest female athletes in the `breaking´ discipline for the Buenos Aires 2018 Summer Youth Olympic Games. In the online-video-qualification Kristina Iashina aka Matina reached the third place in the national ranking, in the Continental Qualifier in Essen she climbed up to the first place in the overall ranking and acquired with the second place at the World Championship in Kawasaki the qualification for Olympia.
The b-girl from Vladimir, Russia, started dancing at the age of eleven in the year 2013. A film about breaking was the trigger for Matina’s arising enthusiasm for this art of dancing. Today the 16-year-old represents the `Dominant Crew´ and is coached by Alexandr Rodin aka R1. To him she also owes a great part of her dancing skills which she could already successfully demonstrate in international battles such as Battle of the Year, Battle of Styles and the Yalta Summer Jam.
For Matina participating in Olympia has always been a big dream and the moment when she came to know that she had passed the qualification, the Russian describes as the most beautiful in her life.
The determined dancer who is ambitious of training is totally opposed to the consumption of cigarettes, drugs and alcohol. Her greatest strength, as Matina says, lies in her strong will and her devotion for breaking. Two good conditions in order to fulfil also her second dream - one day taking part in the Red Bull BC One.
