The World Final is returning to its roots of being invitation only, with one open spot to be determined by a Last Chance Cypher. Throughout 2016, Cyphers will take place in every corner of the globe, with winners being flown to the Last Chance Cypher in Nagoya, to take place on December 1, two days before the World Final.
This Last Chance Cypher will represent an incredible cultural exchange as B-Boys will come in from all over the world to prove their skills on the dance floor and battle in an attempt to earn that one coveted spot on the ultimate stage. The winner will compete in the World Final alongside a line-up of Wild Card entries, chosen by an international team of B-Boy experts.
In total, 38 dancers from 35 countries will battle for the last open spot!
Last Chance Cypher Event Format One cypher event – 1vs1 battle format – that 5 judges will look at. Four dancers will be in the cypher, each performing a solo, and the judges will take notes. Then they battling in 10 heats (9 heats X 4 dancers and 1 round of 2 dancers). The judges will decide who will be the top 16 Last Chance Cypher dancers. The top 16 final will battle in a knockout format like in the World Final. The winner of the Last Chance Cypher will move on to the World Final and will battle against the 15 other dancers already announced.
