Onel gewinnt in Essen (Germany)

GrigoArena Feeling im Einkaufszentrum am Limbecker Platz – 5 internationale Judges, 10 B-Boys sowie Deejay und Host, alle samt bekannte Namen und Gesichter der weltweiten Szene, knapp 800 Zuschauer umrahmten das Gesamtbild im Sinne der Erfinder - Cypher Atmosphäre pur.
Schon bereits knapp 2 Stunden vor Beginn platzierten sich einige Zuschauer auf den wenigen Plätzen, um die zwischen zwei Rolltreppen installierte Tanzfläche. Ein großer Floorsticker mit "SNIPES Battle of the Year 2017" markierte unübersehbar den Aktionsraum für die qualifizierten B-Boys, die teilweise ihren Weg von Australien, Italien oder der Ukraine auf sich nahmen um bei diesem Spektakel dabei zu sein.
Lauthals und dennoch mit Feingefühl heizte Mario Bee die Menge auf bevor er den Zuschauern, der Reihe nach die Judges präsentierte. Danach gings auch schon los mit dem ersten Battle zwischen Nasso (France) und Lowe (Australia). In einer etwa 90 minütigen Round Robin Phase in der jeder der 10 Tänzer 2 Battles mit jeweils 3 Runden absolvieren musste, ging es darum Votes, Rounds und Battle Wins zu sammeln um den bestmöglichen Platz im Ranking zu ergattern und somit die Knock-Out Phase mit den TOP4 B-Boys zu erreichen.
