Gemeinsam mit den europäischen Partnern schlägt das Battle of the Year im Jahr 2016 ein neues Kapitel in der BOTY Geschichte auf und startet bei einigen Vorausscheidungen und beim Weltfinale in Essen erstmals mit dem brandneuen “Battle of the Year Kids” Konzept, kurz BOTY Kids.

Die grundlegende Idee hinter diesem neuen Konzept, das im Jahr 2016 erstmals umgesetzt werden soll, liegt vor allem darin der jungen Generation die Möglichkeit zu eröffnen, Erfahrungen bei einem der bekanntesten und größten Breaking Wettbewerbe der Welt zu sammeln. Es ist zudem die Chance mit der eigenen Crew aktiv zu werden, sich national und international mit gleichaltrigen oder bereits den älteren und erfahrenen Tänzern zu messen und zu vergleichen. Dadurch entstehen neue Trainingsziele sowie Austausch und Motivation für alle aktiven Generationen.

Welche Regeln sind dabei zu beachten?
• Generell gleiche Regeln wie beim “normalen” BOTY
• Teilnehmer nicht älter als 15 Jahre (Stichjahr 2001)
• Länge der Show liegt bei maximal 6 Minuten
• Anzahl der Tänzer pro Crew ist unbegrenzt
• Final Battle mit den ersten 2 Crews im Ranking

Wichtig! Crews mit einer oder mehr Personen, die älter als 15 Jahre alt sind nehmen automatisch beim regulären Battle of the Year teil. Für die Teilnahme beim BOTY Kids müssen sich alle Teilnehmer einer Crew mit einem offiziellen Dokument ausweisen können.

Wie wird das BOTY Kids umgesetzt?
Grundsätzlich gibt es zwei verschiedene Möglichkeiten, wie man das BOTY Kids in ein offizielles nationales oder regionales Battle of the Year Qualifikationsevent integrieren kann. Dies bleibt dem jeweiligen Veranstalter überlassen und kann unterschiedlich gehandhabt werden.

Variante 1: “Integration von BOTY Kids”
Kids Crews werden in den regulären BOTY Ablauf integriert, d.h. Erwachsenen- und Kindergruppen sind nicht getrennt. Die Kids Shows werden dabei nach den gleichen Kriterien wie die der Erwachsenen bewertet. Beide Kategorien werden im selben Ranking gelistet, haben jedoch eigene Final-Battles, d.h. Finale Adults und Finale Kids. Sollte eine Kindergruppe so stark sein und es unter den Erwachsenen-Gruppen in die TOP4 (bzw. TOP6) schaffen, nimmt sie in beiden Kategorien (Finale Adults und Finale Kids) teil. Das Finale der Kids bestreiten die zwei Kindergruppen mit der höchsten Punktzahl im gleichen Prinzip wie beim regulären BOTY. Im Falle, dass eine Kindergruppe beide Kategorien (BOTY Adults und BOTY Kids) gewinnt, bekommt die zweitbeste Kindergruppe die Möglichkeit ihr Land beim BOTY Kids World Final zu vertreten.

Variante 2: “BOTY Kids als eigener Event”
Ein Veranstalter kann sich auch entscheiden zwei getrennte Wettbewerbe zu organisieren, d.h. BOTY Adults und BOTY Kids unabhängig von einander stattfinden zu lassen. Die Kindergruppen können dann selbst entscheiden und sowohl bei BOTY Kids als auch bei BOTY Adults teilnehmen.

Anreise, Unterkunft und Verpflegung
Jede Crew ist für ihre Anreise und die damit verbundenen Kosten selbst verantwortlich. Der Veranstalter muss nicht für die Reisekosten der Gewinner Gruppe aufkommen. Um der Gewinnergruppe zu helfen ihre Reise zum BOTY Kids World Final nach Deutschland zu finanzieren, kann der Veranstalter ein Preisgeld ansetzen.

Qualifikation zum Weltfinale in Essen
Erstmals qualifizieren sich Gruppen bei den offiziellen BOTY Kids Qualfikationswettbewerben für das international Battle of the Year in Essen (Germany). Das internationale “BOTY Kids World Final” findet dann am Nachmittag vom 29. Oktober 2016 statt. Die Gewinner erhalten die Möglichkeit ihre Show auf der BOTY Hauptbühne am Samstag Abend vor dem gesamten Publikum zu präsentieren.

Bis jetzt ist die Einbindung von maximal 6 Kids Crews für das erste BOTY Kids 2016 geplant. Die Qualifikationen stehen bereits fest. Die für das Weltfinale qualifizierten und teilnehmenden Kindergruppen müssen bereits am Freitag, 28. Oktober 2016 um 13:00 Uhr in Essen vor Ort sein. „BOTY International“ kümmert sich um die Unterkunft und die Verpflegung beim BOTY Weltfinale für maximal 9 Personen einschließlich dem Trainer.
